[Histemple] How 3 siblings decided to make a difference

Dear Community Members,


We want to share with you the heartwarming story of the Maharaj family.  Parents Swami and Sudha Maharaj, along with their children Palvi Jain, Jennifer Jain and Danvir Jain moved to Zumbrota barely few months ago.  They were worried about bringing up their children in a small town.  Would they lose touch with their faith and culture?  Would they miss the festivities of Holi, Shiva Rathri, Dussehra and Deepavali?



Their joy new no bounds when they came to know that a small town like Rochester had a Temple and Community Center.  On visiting the Temple they found it to be peaceful and welcoming.  And could this be true?  There was a full time, friendly priest to perform archana to their favorite Lord Shiva!  Seeing nearly 500 people at the Diwali Cultural program and the enthusiastic participation by children of all ages their last vestiges of doubt were laid to rest.  Rochester would more than meet their children’s religious, cultural and social needs!

 

And they expressed their gratitude to the Temple by giving.  The children decided to donate $1 a day each to the Temple and the parents have made their own contribution as well.  They considered it an important investment in their children’s future
